چکیده

Pistacia lentiscus L. is a dioecious shrub or small tree with high drought resistance, native in the entire Mediterranean basin. The variety ‘Chia’ (mastic tree) cultivated for production of mastic gum (a resin produced after wounding trunks and thick branches) Island Chios (Greece), but it also has significant ornamental value. In present study, ten male female genotypes P. var. Chia from natural habitats were selected examined respect to rooting efficiency their shoot cuttings. germination ability seeds was tested. 20 plants morphologically described, mainly traits related Furthermore, leaves collected genotypes, which genomic DNA (gDNA) isolated, followed by amplification gDNA fragments using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) primers. This done aiming both at determination genetic distance establishment possible correlations between amplified bands certain morphological traits. results study showed that there differences among methods propagation. Regarding cuttings, best genotype 8M (cv. ‘Psilophyllos’), achieving rate 62.5% winter application indolebutyric acid (potassium salt IBA), while regarding seed capacity 2F exhibited highest (57%). Genetic analysis ISSRs separated into four groups, one group consisting members genders fourth containing single genotype. only dendrogram showing cultivars clustering three different groups. Regardless analysis, seems ISSR markers leaf gender asexual These can assist future breeding programs Chia.

Investigation of Genetic Diversity and Structure Analysis of Different Citrus Genotypes Using ISSR Markers

In breeding programs, it is necessary having knowledge of the relatedness and genetic diversity in germplasm pools. The spread of cultivated regions and the high levels of production indicates citrus importance in the global economy. Therefore, 110 citrus genotypes were evaluated using 12 ISSR markers. Overall, 154 polymorphic bands were scored with an average of 12.8 alleles per primer. The po...

Genetic analysis of castor (Ricinus communis L.) using ISSR markers

Castor (Ricinus communis L.) is one of the most ancient medicinal oil crops in the world. It has been vastly distributed in different parts of Iran. In the present study, the inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers were used to evaluate the molecular genetic diversity among and within 12 castor accessions collected from 7 regions of Iran. Totally, 16 ISSR primers amplified 166 loci...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Mastic oil from Pistacia lentiscus var. chia inhibits growth and survival of human K562 leukemia cells and attenuates angiogenesis.

Mastic oil from Pistacia lentiscus var. chia, a natural plant extract traditionally used as a food additive, has been extensively studied for its antimicrobial activity attributed to the combination of its bioactive components. One of them, perillyl alcohol (POH), displays tumor chemopreventive, chemotherapeutic, and antiangiogenic properties. We investigated whether mastic oil would also suppr...
